据外媒报道,摩根士丹利分析师预计,今年苹果公司将在汽车研发上投入近190亿美元,并将汽车市场视为其新的增长空间。随着全球手机市场竞争日益激烈,从2019年第四季度开始,iPhone业务开始出现下滑,新冠疫情则加剧了这种情况。对于苹果公司来说,需要一个新的重头业务来维持股价和市值的想象空间。

苹果对汽车业务的兴趣由来已久,2013年,苹果宣布向汽车领域进军,并推出研发计划,进行车载系统研发。此后,苹果先后从克莱斯勒、特斯拉、福特等汽车厂商挖走了众多高管和技术人员。

有市场人士认为,如果苹果确定推出汽车产品,中国将会是其业务重心。特斯拉的经历已经证明了中国市场的巨大潜力以及中国政府对外资的支持,因此,苹果公司很可能仿效特斯拉,在中国建造苹果汽车超级工厂。

The Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi announced the launch of a safe and clean certification programme – a first of its kind in the region, and one which seeks to uplift and standardise the cleanliness and hygiene levels across all businesses and organisations in the tourism sector.

As hotels, malls and other attractions in Abu Dhabi prepare to cautiously re-welcome guests to their venues.

DCT Abu Dhabi aims to safeguard the health and wellbeing of consumers by offering certifications that ensure the compliance of standardised hygiene levels in tourism destinations and industry businesses within the emirate.

此次疫情的爆发对全球范围的卫生措施提出了许多不同要求,各国政府推出了一系列消毒计划,以确保公众的安全。

The pandemic has called for many different hygiene measures across the globe, with governments rolling out a series of disinfection programs to ensure the safety of the public.  

此项新举措表明了阿布扎比文化与旅游部对居民和游客健康和安全的承诺,以及新冠肺炎疫情下针对消费趋势、行为和期望值变化的响应。

The latest initiative from DCT Abu Dhabi comes as part of the organisation’s commitment to ensuring the health and safety of its residents and visitors, as well as its response to the change in consumer trends, behaviors, and expectations as a result of COVID-19.

该认证计划与世界领先的开发商合作制定的,将分阶段实施。第一阶段的认证重点是阿布扎比酒店,其它旅游景点和企业将紧随其后。

The certification programme was developed in partnership with leading world developer and will be rolled out in phases. Phase one will be dedicated to hotels in Abu Dhabi, with other tourism attractions and businesses to follow.

雅高集团近日宣布,已与由五家银行组成的财团签署了新的5.6亿欧元循环信用贷款协议。

Accor announces recently that it has signed an agreement with a consortium of 5 banks for a new €560m Revolving Credit Facility (RCF).

该协议是对2018年7月签署的12亿欧元循环信用贷款(未动用)的补充。这进一步增强了雅高集团的资金流动性,目前集团的流动资金超过40亿欧元。

It complements the undrawn €1.2bn RCF signed in July 2018. It further reinforces Accor’s liquidity position which today exceeds €4.0bn,

新的专用贷款有12个月的期限,雅高拥有两个六个月的延长选项,既没有约定事项也没有限制。

The new fully committed facility has a 12 months tenor, with two six-months extension options in the hands of Accor and has neither covenant nor restriction.

值得注意的是,雅高集团正在实施已公布的现金留存计划,即:暂停股票回购计划; 取消支付2019年股息;3月底实施的节约成本措施;减少经常性投资;暂停外部发展交易。

As a reminder, Accor is implementing the cash preservation plan already announced, namely: the suspension of share buyback programs; the withdrawal of the dividend in respect of 2019; the cost-saving measures implemented in end-March; the reduction of recurring investments;the suspension of external growth transactions.

在这种情况下,尽管运营仍面临挑战,但集团显现了业务改善的初步迹象。

In this context, while operations are still challenging, the Group sees initial signs of business improvement.

在中国,每间客房营收出现复苏。在亚洲和欧洲,尤其是德国,恢复开业酒店的数量每天都在增加。自4月底以来雅高集团已重新开业250家酒店。到目前为止,雅高集团旗下全球42%的酒店处于运营状态。

RevPAR shows some recovery in China while the number of opened hotels in the world increases every day, in Asia and in Europe, notably in Germany. Accor has re-opened 250 hotels since end-April. To date, 42% of the Accor network is operating.

New York City Will Use Ultraviolet Light To Kill Covid-19 On Buses And Trains

据外媒报道,纽约市公共交通管理部门宣布将在一个试点项目中采用紫外线灯来杀死公交车、地铁和车站的新冠病毒。

The agency in charge of public transit in New York City announced a pilot program using ultraviolet light lamps to kill Covid-19 on buses and trains and at stations.

纽约大都会运输署日前表示,将使用丹佛初创企业PURO照明公司生产的“150双头移动设备”来确定紫外线灯技术的有效性和成本效益比。

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority said recently that it will use "150 dual-headed mobile devices" from Denver-based start-up PURO Lighting to determine the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the UVC light technology, the agency said in a press release.

PURO照明公司称,短波紫外线是紫外光谱中的三种光线之一,被证实能消灭新冠病毒并能有效抗击病毒和细菌。公司指出,他们的紫外线灯还能放射长波和中波紫外线,可以进行全光谱消毒。

UVC, which is one of three types of light on the UV spectrum, is proven to eliminate Covid-19 and is most potent against viruses and bacteria, PURO Lighting said. PURO noted that their lamps also have UVA and UVB as well for full spectrum disinfection.

PURO照明公司还表示,紫外线灯可以对表面和空气中的病原体进行消毒,能杀死99.9%的病毒和细菌。

The unit disinfects both surface and airborne pathogens and eliminates up to 99.9% of viruses and bacteria, according to PURO Lighting.

报道称,从5月6日开始,纽约市115年来将首次在夜间关闭整个地铁系统来清洁车厢。

For the first time in its 115-year history, New York City deliberately shut down its entire subway system overnight starting May 6 to clean all its cars.

未用购物卡致消费者年损失30亿美元

Consumers Lose $3 Billion A Year In Unspent Gift Cards

据外媒报道,购物卡已连续13年成为消费者购物清单上最受欢迎的节日物品。

The plastic cash substitute has been the most popular holiday item on shoppers’ lists for 13 years in a row.  

据统计,仅在2019年,美国消费者就从星巴克、亚马逊和家得宝等品牌购买了价值约980亿美元的购物卡,比2005年增长90%。

In 2019 alone, U.S. consumers loaded up on gift cards from brands like Starbucks, Amazon and Home Depot to the tune of about $98 billion — a 90% increase from 2005.

但据墨卡托咨询集团称,每年大约有2%到4%的购物卡未使用。仅在美国,这一数字达20亿至40亿美元。

But about 2% to 4% of gift card money goes unused every year. That adds up to between $2 billion and $4 billion — just in the U.S., according to Mercator Advisory Group.

 “这是一大笔钱,”零售购物卡协会主席艾琳·伍德说。“因此,在美国各地,在任何时候,购物卡上都可能有未使用的余额,相当于数十亿美元。”

″That’s a lot of money,” said Erin Wood, chair of the Retail Gift Card Association. “And so across America, at any given time, there could be unclaimed, unused balances on gift cards that equate into the billions of dollars.”

对于那些手头持有购物卡而不愿购物的消费者,可以将不需要的卡出售给诸如Cardpool、Raise等网站。

And for consumers who prefer having cash on hand instead of shopping, online sites like Cardpool and Raise sell unwanted gift cards.

根据购物卡的受欢迎程度,转售价一般为7至9折左右。

The resale value generally ranges from below 70% to more than 90% depending on the popularity of the card.
